I know where you’re coming from!  We bought a dalmatian and it was a disaster.  She would steal tins off the top of the work surface.  We eventually got an Old English Sheepdog and he was so much better. He died a couple of years ago.   Wishing you every success with your new business.  Kate, UK.

Our daughter bought a cockerpoo puppy (cocker spaniel and poodle cross). The breeder said it was ‘safe’ for her allergy. It wasn’t. She had a really bad reaction to it. Wish we’d known you existed. Charles and Anne, UK

Wow, finally had a chance to look at your site. You’ve certainly been busy! Well done. I wish you every success with your business. You certainly deserve it.  Melissa Fairhust, Certain Change (UK)

I especially appreciated the “How to find a breeder”. So tired of seeing our customers buy from bad breeders or pet stores that we KNOW purchase their puppies from puppy mills or animal auctions – Grooming Business Owner, Ohio, USA

We decided on a miniature Schnauzer. But she barks constantly. We’ve tried an anti-bark collar but it just makes her depressed. When she’s not in it, it drives us mad. I wish we’d known you before we chose her. Richard S, UK

Hi Bev.  We chose Wheatens (Irish Wheaten Terriers).  We now have George and Alice.  The dogs are superb with the kids but it’s like having a hyperactive small child in the house!  Jon, UK

I adore your website.  Great effort!  Yorkshire Terrier Training

Hi Bev. Super meeting you at Discover Dogs and talking dogs non-stop.  I see so many people who haven’t a clue.  They don’t know what they’ve got or how to handle it.  As for bad breeding!!!!!  Had a labrador in a while back with the worst case of hip displaysia I’ve ever seen.  Poor thing was in so much pain.  What you’re doing is SO valuable.  Tamara, Dog Behaviour, Daycare and Boarding, London, UK

I’m highly dog allergic.  That’s why I chose Bichons.  They’re adorable.  Totally different characters though. Charlie’s very sweet and Bertie’s terribly naughty!  Cathy, UK

I never knew so many non-shedding dogs existed!  Suzanne, Edinburgh, UK.

Beverley, I appreciate your information that you share with me. I have learned so many things from you. Thank You Very Much! debra, USA

I thought I knew what to do.  Well I’m glad I didn’t.  I could have made nearly all those common mistakes. Yikes!  Sue, Wisconsin

My son Joe is allergic to dogs but we’ve been thinking about getting a Greyhound.  My sister has a dog but they don’t take it for walks and I think that’s cruel.  I want a dog that looks like a dog, you know,  not a small fluffy thing. It’s great to know you can help us.  Nicki, High Wycombe, UK

Hi there, I just purchased the ebook on hypoallergenic dogs. I desperately want a dog, a coton de tulear, and my husband has asthma AND allergies. I’m hoping your book will give us a better test for a dog. He doesn’t want to buy one and waste 2-3 thousand dollars if we can’t keep it, and I agree, I’d hate to do that to a dog, but I feel that with regular bathing, and keeping the dog out of our bedroom, etc, we can have a dog. Thanks, Elizabeth, USA

I have a friend who bought this dog – a bull terrier cross I think.  in 6 months it basically wrecked his living room.  He could have done with your help.  Charlie, Vancouver

Hi Beverley, I wanted to drop you a line to let you know that after reading the wonderful book you have written and all the other materials you included, we decided on a Havanese!! We found a breeder and our little “Bailey” (Male) will be delivered to us in mid March!  – Jen, New York

Hi Bev, I have been to your web site and I am impressed with your work. You are opening up the path to dog companionship to many people who thought their allergies were a permanent deterrent. I did not have time to look at all 60 breeds, but plan to do so. We board dogs in our home and I enjoy making interesting and unique outfits for dogs. Due to changes in our lifestyle, our next dog(s) will be very little and easy to take with us – Carolyn Levant, Canine By Designs, NC

After purchasing this (grooming) business eight years ago, we adopted our second child. It wasn’t until he was two that he was diagnosed with pet allergies. Hence, we went on the rampage to learn everything we could on low allergen dogs! This is how we came to have our beautiful Cresteds. I love your site. You have a good thing going :) – Michelle Harvey, Marion, USA

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to work with you! It was a pleasure! This is wonderfully put together. Woo-hoo! You did a great job! I would love to promote this to the veterinarian’s that we work with as well as customers and other people who contact us. I would encourage you to continue. Thank you again – Michelle Harvey, Breeder of Chinese Crested Dogs, USA

Your howtochooseyourdog.com site is a terrific resource — too many people think having a dog would be great, and jump into it without any knowledge of what they’re getting into.  I had a Bouvier for years, so I’m familiar with the concept — Bouviers are not for everyone! – ‘Montana Lady’, USA

Four years ago, I heard from a friend about the terrible plight of Greyhounds and the abuses that they suffer. I decided to do my bit to help them, and this was how I first met Bev, in her capacity as a rescue volunteer.  Her passion for dogs shone through and was undeniable and irresistible. Before I knew it, and with the benefit of Bev’s knowledge, I’d adopted an ex-racer of my own.

Maybe Bev is even a dog in disguise.   Certainly she’s never happier than when she’s with her ‘kids’.    I’ve watched her gently tend to their wounds, coax them to eat, treat them when they’re sick and sleep with them when they need reassurance.  Her passion is backed up by an encyclopaedic knowledge of their diet, habits, welfare and what kinds of dog fit what kinds of lifestyles.  I’ve never known her unable to answer a dog question.

And finally, Blue has been a perfect choice for me.  He successfully made the transition from keen race dog to professional settee tester!  He’s an ambassador for greyhounds wherever he goes – Robin Sharman, UK

My introduction to Bev came as a direct result of her willingness to follow her own formula for finding the right dog. I was both impressed and reassured by the steps she had already taken to research both the breed and the lines before choosing her next Azawakh puppy.

As a breeder I dream of placing my dogs in the type of home Bev provides. The diligence Bev showed in deciding on her next companion not only took the terror out of shipping overseas but created a respect that made me willing to assist her in anyway I could.

I wish I could have started out with the information about choosing a pet that Bev has put together. It would have saved me many sleepless nights. There is always risk involved in choosing a companion animal, but those risks can be greatly reduced if you know what to look for and what to ask – Rhonda Mann, Kel Simoon Azawakhs, USA

Five years ago, we decided that the time was right to adopt a dog, something we’d waited a great many years to do. After doing our research we were put in touch with dog fostering expert Beverly Nash, who was looking after a homeless three-year-old saluki/greyhound called Jasper.

Bev was able to telt us exactly what Jasper was like to live with and we made the long journey to meet him.  We were thrilled to be allowed to take him home.  Bev gave us extensive written notes on how to settle Jasper in and continue with his training.  It was really reassuring to know that Bev was only at the end of the phone or e-mail.

Jasper turned out to be everytuing we were hoping for – and more.  He’s an absolute perfect fit and an adored member of the family.  He’s now 9 years old and still the centre of our world. Thanks Bev for the care and attention you showed to Jasper and the wealth of information you shared – Charlotte, Anthony and Jasper, Colchester, UK

Bev is passionate about her dogs. By her dogs I of course refer to the entire canine species as her actual dogs are more accurately referred to as her kids.

While working with her on the website for her business (dog related of course!) I found her an absolute pleasure to work with. She is kind and thoughtful and considerate. She is detail orientated and meticulous. She is ALWAYS positive.

When it comes to dogs Bev is encyclopaedic and passionate. The depth and breadth of her knowledge can only come from true love.  It has been my pleasure to work with her on her website and when I am ready to get a dog for my children I will look no further nor should anyone else. Ash Goodman,  www.impowersites.com

Bev brings a positive, enthusiastic attitude to life – I know she is mad about dogs! She told me she used to ‘rescue’ dogs that had sadly been treated badly. I think her writing style is fun, chatty but informative from other material she has written that I have read, so her books will be packed with information provided in a ‘pleasure to read’ way! – Adele Miller, Homeopath, UK

We have customers bring their new puppy or dog to us and sometimes we would like to thump them.  Often elderly ladies will think a larger dog would be better for them for company and protection.  However, they physically can not handle them to even get them to the point of training.  That’s why this resource is so useful – Dog Trainer, USA

Hi Bev.  I am looking forward to seeing your project progress, and participating. I hope you have included a greyhound with the low allergy breeds!

I have yet – over a three year period – to have a family who didn’t come back after a time and say the child did not have an allergic reaction to a greyhound.  Many a thrilled parent has then gone on to further explore adoption of a greyhound.

We routinely suggest that families with an animal allergy issue find out where there is a Meet and Greet scheduled in their area and test exposure with the dogs themselves.

It’s always a pleasure to hear from Bev. She obviously puts allot of work and passion into everything she does and is always friendly and approachable. I think she is as much of a workaholic as I am going by the time of day I’ve received emails from her and would recommend her new web site.  Simon Cardwell, Claron Graphics, UK www.claron-graphics.co.uk
