Before you start, know that they all share something in common – they know that the secrets I teach on choosing your dog will save you an expensive dog disaster.

Happy people!

When it comes to dogs Bev is encyclopaedic and passionate. The depth and breadth of her knowledge can only come from true love.  It has been my pleasure to work with her on her website and when I am ready to get a dog I will look no further nor should anyone else. Ash Goodman,  www.impowersites.com

At the age of 75 years old I purchased an Australian Terrier Puppy.  I wanted a hypoallergenic dog and someone I knew was pulling out of dog breeding for personal reasons.  She had two males left from the last litter.  He’s a lot more work than the adult female I originally wanted, but we are doing fine!  Nan Sharp.

Our Jack Russell is so aggressive!  He’s great with the family but hates other dogs and strangers.  We have to pick him up to stop him biting.   We had been thinking of getting another dog to go with him but didn’t know if this was a good idea.  Thanks for your help and advice.  We’ll just have to stick with the one dog then.  James and Lisa, Little Haywood, UK.

We already had 2 Shih Tzu and were going to adopt another.  We had seen one that someone didn’t want because of its behavioural issues.  When we explained you explained to us how the lack of training, effort, care or pack leadership had most likely created many of those problems.  We have that dog now and he has settled really well with us.  There are still issues but things are getting better all the time.  Thanks for the advice!  Angela M, Great Haywood, UK.

Four years ago, I heard from a friend about the terrible plight of Greyhounds and the abuses that they suffer. I decided to do my bit to help them, and this was how I first met Bev.   Her passion for dogs shone through and was undeniable and irresistible. Before I knew it, and with the benefit of Bev’s knowledge, I’d adopted an ex-racer of my own. Maybe Bev is even a dog in disguise.   Certainly she’s never happier than when she’s with her ‘kids’.   Her passion is backed up by an encyclopaedic knowledge of their diet, habits, welfare and what kinds of dog fit what kinds of lifestyles.  I’ve never known her unable to answer a dog question. And finally, Blue has been a perfect choice for me.  He successfully made the transition from keen race dog to professional settee tester!  He’s an ambassador for greyhounds wherever he goes – Robin Sharman, UK

Beverley, I am horrified the way humans treat there precious pets!  Thank GOD for people like you!!!!!!  Thanks, Pam Martello, De Caro Realty, Memphis, TN

Hi Bev, Thank u for your invaluable help.  On Tuesday we purchased what we think is going to turn out to be our ‘perfect dog’.  Thanks to you we purchased a Borderdoodle (Border Terrier x Miniature Poodle).  Both breeds we understand are perfect for 1st time owners and our little Bobby is proving the breeds right so far.  He is an absolute little darling and much loved by us all, a very easy going and loving little boy.  We are looking forward to many years of long daily walks and many many cuddles.   Thank you again. Stephanie Robinson

Beverley, You are AWESOME!  I am so happy with my little rescue dog Muffin. As is my friend Carolynn with her little rescue dog Cookie. We call our little girls “Our Baked Goods”, “Our Pastry Pets”!  We take them almost every where we go!  Keep being the Awesome Person You Are doing the Awesome Work that You Do!  I truly think that you and your four legged friends rescue people! Thank You for Being A Blessing! Debra Sego-Castaneda

Hi Bev. Loving life with my new terrier Stella! – Dave Barrie, Johannesburg, South Africa

Thanks Bev, we saved $500 by going to a shelter for a Cavalier King Charles. With your advice we knew what breed we wanted but also that it had to be an adult. It really felt like you were in there with us. Dominic DaSouza, Nebraska, USA

Tremendous stuff, Bev, it really was everything you said. I leap out of bed with a smile on my face knowing Major’s waiting. It’s a bit of a challenge having a Rottweiler as a first dog but I’m challenging too, so we make a great pair! – Debbie Symonds, South Island, NZ

At last!  After being told I’d never have a dog because of my allergy you’re my hero! Can’t wait to get started.  Sue Stoker, California

Thanks Bev, I’m so glad I found you before I made a horrible mess.  Now I just have to decide between a standard Poodle and giant Schnauzer.  Carly Deeks, Cirencester, UK.

I never knew so many non-shedding dogs existed!  Suzanne P, Edinburgh, UK.

Are you mad????  Most e-books I was ever stupid enough to buy didn’t live up to promises.  At last one does.  Can’t believe you’re giving so much value.  Martin Pine, Tennessee

Five years ago, we decided that the time was right to adopt a dog, something we’d waited a great many years to do. After doing our research we were put in touch with dog fostering expert Beverly Nash, who was looking after a homeless three-year-old saluki/greyhound called Jasper. We were thrilled to be allowed to take him home.  Bev gave us extensive written notes on how to settle Jasper in and continue with his training.  Jasper turned out to be an absolute perfect fit.  He’s now 9 years old and still the centre of our world.  Thanks Bev for the wealth of information you shared – Charlotte, Anthony and Jasper, Colchester, UK

Am so in love with Daisy my Pug, she is magic, my boyfriend is soooooo jealous :) Thanks so much – Danielle Masters, Ohio, USA

Merlin is everything I ever wanted.  Didn’t expect to choose what I did, but it’s just how it went.  I started with some bad ideas about ‘bloke’s dogs’ which would have been a disaster.  I chose a Cocker Spaniel instead. He’s great – Steve Bailey, Languedoc, France (ex-London).

I’m stunned.  Delighted but stunned that I can learn all this so quickly.  I know so much it’s beginning to make me into a dog bore!  Andy Novak, Missouri, USA.

My son Joe is allergic to dogs but we’ve been thinking about getting a Greyhound.  I want a dog that looks like a dog, you know,  not a small fluffy thing. It’s great to know you can help us get a dog which works with Joe’s allergy problem.  Nicki.F, High Wycombe, UK

Hi there, I desperately want a dog, a coton de tulear, and my husband has asthma AND allergies. I’m hoping your book will give us a better test for a dog. He doesn’t want to buy one and waste 2-3 thousand dollars if we can’t keep it, and I agree, I’d hate to do that to a dog, but I feel that with regular bathing, and keeping the dog out of our bedroom, etc, we can have a dog. Thanks, Elizabeth Barney, USA

Hi Bev.  We chose Wheatens (Irish Wheaten Terriers).  We now have George and Alice.  The dogs are superb with the kids but it’s like having a hyperactive small child in the house!  Jon Brown, Derbyshire, UK

I got this small fat thing that didn’t look like a whippet. His previous owner didn’t walk him.  After three weeks Ted’s settled so well I sometimes forget there’s a dog in the house – Mike Parsons, Cardiff, UK

I didn’t think I could have a dog but with your help it happened.  I called my pekingese ‘Princess’ because what’s what she is to me.  I can’t get out much but we play lots, and she loves just to sit on my lap and cuddle.   My dogwalker does the rest -  Mary Singleton, Cincinatti, USA.

Delighted with my Australian Shepherd, Maddie – Dan Bramwell, NSW, Australia

The kids are bowled over!  They can’t believe we finally got a dog.  They’re outside with Chocs our Lab every chance they get, playing ball and getting dirty.  Much healthier than their Playstations – The Willet Family,  Ontario

I thought this was too good to be true and nearly didn’t take up the offer.  Bev I do think you’ve gone a little crazy, but I’m glad.  You’d be stupid to pass it up.  I’m now into my shortlisting and enjoying every second!  Sally Anthony, Nevada, USA

Hi Beverley, I wanted to drop you a line to let you know that after reading the wonderful book you have written and all the other materials you included, we decided on a Havanese!! We found a breeder and our little “Bailey” (Male) will be delivered to us in mid March!  - Jen Pisterzi, New York

A few people who wish they’d known me earlier

I bought this Labradoodle because I was told they don’t shed their coat. He sheds all the time.  You only have to run your hand over his coat and you get a fist of yellow hair.  There’s another one in the village just the same.  Wish we’d met you earlier. Thank god no-one in the family has a dog allergy.  Sarah Cummings, Cumbria, UK.

We were given a border collie pup by the people next door.  He was the most beautiful dog, but we didn’t realise how much exercise it was going to take.  And me with two young children at the time and my husband away with his work.  If he wasn’t chasing cars, he was chasing cats, if not cats he would chase birds, then he would chase flies and if there were no flies he would run after aeroplanes in the sky.  We had to give him to the mother-in-law.  Claire B, Cumbria, UK

Our daughter bought a cockerpoo puppy (cocker spaniel and poodle cross).  She was told it was ’safe’ for her allergy. It wasn’t. She had a really bad reaction to it. Wish we’d known you existed. Charles and Anne Hopkins, UK

We decided on a miniature Schnauzer. But she barks constantly. We’ve tried an anti-bark collar but it just makes her depressed. When she’s not in it, it drives us mad. Of course you already knew barking was the issue with this breed! I wish we’d known you before we chose her. Richard Sidi, Cumbria, UK

I have a friend who bought this dog – a bull terrier cross I think.  in 6 months it basically wrecked his living room.  He could have done with your help.  Charlie Ritchie, Vancouver

Dog experts say….

A terrific resource — too many people think having a dog would be great, and jump into it without any knowledge of what they’re getting into.  I had a Bouvier for years, so I’m familiar with the concept — Bouviers are not for everyone! – ‘Montana Lady’, USA

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to work with you! It was a pleasure! This is wonderfully put together. Woo-hoo! You did a great job! I would love to promote this to the veterinarian’s that we work with as well as customers and other people who contact us. I would encourage you to continue. Thank you again – Michelle Harvey, Breeder of Chinese Crested Dogs, USA

Just found your site. Love it. You have such great information here.  Keep up the great work!  Jennifer G. PetRescueFund

I especially appreciated the “How to find a breeder”. So tired of seeing our customers buy from bad breeders or pet stores that we KNOW purchase their puppies from puppy mills or animal auctions – Grooming Business Owner, Ohio, USA (name withheld for commercial reasons)

I adore your website.  Great effort!  Yorkshire Terrier Training

Hi Bev. Super meeting you!   I see so many people who haven’t a clue.  They don’t know what they’ve got or how to handle it.  As for bad breeding!!!!!  Had a labrador in a while back with the worst case of hip displaysia I’ve ever seen.  The poor thing was in so much pain.  What you’re doing is SO valuable.  Tamara Cartwright, Dog Behaviour, Daycare and Boarding, London, UK

Hi Bev, I have been to your web site and I am impressed! You are opening up the path to dog companionship to many people who thought their allergies were a permanent deterrent. Carolyn Levant, Canine By Designs, NC

Eight years ago, we adopted our second child. It wasn’t until he was two that he was diagnosed with pet allergies. Hence, we went on the rampage to learn everything we could on low allergen dogs! This is how we came to have our beautiful Cresteds. I love your site. You have a good thing going :)Michelle Harvey, Marion, USA

My introduction to Bev came as a direct result of her willingness to follow her own formula for finding the right dog. I was both impressed and reassured by the steps she had already taken to research both the breed and the lines before choosing her next Azawakh puppy. As a breeder I dream of placing my dogs in the type of home Bev provides. The diligence Bev showed in deciding on her next companion not only took the terror out of shipping overseas but created a respect that made me willing to assist her in anyway I could. I wish I could have started out with the information about choosing a pet that Bev has put together. It would have saved me many sleepless nights. There is always risk involved in choosing a companion animal, but those risks can be greatly reduced if you know what to look for and what to ask – Rhonda Mann, Kel Simoon Azawakhs, USA

We have customers bring their new puppy or dog to us and sometimes we would like to thump them.  Often elderly ladies will think a larger dog would be better for them for company and protection.  However, they physically can not handle them to even get them to the point of training.  That’s why this book is so useful – Dog Trainer, USA (Name withheld for commercial reasons)

Hi Bev.  I am looking forward to seeing your project progress, and participating. I hope you have included a greyhound with the low allergy breeds!  I have yet – over a three year period – to have a family who didn’t come back and say the child did not have an allergic reaction to a greyhound.  Many a thrilled parent has then gone on to further explore adoption of a greyhound.  We routinely suggest that families with an animal allergy issue find out where there is a Meet and Greet scheduled in their area and test exposure with the dogs themselves. Susan A Allen,  CVT (Certified Veterinary Technician), Foster Care Director, Friends of Retired Greyhounds (FORG), Colorado, http://www.friendsofretiredgreyhounds.org/

Hi Bev, my dog is an ex puppy mill breeder so I’m right behind you on stamping out puppy farms.  Ruthie Bentley, Writer/Blogger, Canidae Pet Foods

Bev brings a positive, enthusiastic attitude to life – I know she is mad about dogs! She told me she used to ‘rescue’ dogs that had sadly been treated badly. I think her writing style is fun, chatty but informative , so her books will be packed with information provided in a ‘pleasure to read’ way! – Adele Miller, Homeopath, UK
