Welcome to my recommendations for only the best dog products and services.  These are recommended because they are brilliant and personally vetted by me – and not because I’m being paid to have these links on my site.

I will only ever use paid links if I already believe in the product or service 100%.

Dog Food – UK

CSJ Canine Feeds  My Top Pick. A fantastic company based in Wales, run by Ceri Rundle.  Ceri has a long history in breeding and working sheepdogs.  The food is superb quality and there is a range of complimentary herbal products too.  My dogs have been fed CSJ for years and everyone asks me what I use!  I recommend:

  • All of the CSJ Champ Range – a serious ‘Best Buy’
  • Salmon gluten free and Lamb and Rice gluten free
  • Command Performance Puppy

Chudley’s Dog Food - Owned by Dodson and Horrell.  A really good quality range from budget working dog food to greyhound racing food.  All the food is very reasonably priced.  This is my fallback if I run out of CSJ. I recommend:

  • Chudley’s Sensitive – a Gluten free food which is a really super price, good for more active dogs at 26% protein.
  • Chudley’s Greyhound Racer – for puppies and active working dogs

Lupine

I recommend Lupine leads and collars.  Tough, hardwearing and lots of funky designs.  My boys wear  Bone Hunter and Monarch red 1 inch.  My girls wear Peacock and Jelly Roll 3/4 inch.  Buy your Lupine from:

Pet Expectations - My Top Pick.  Come here if buying from the USA/Canada.  OR if you want the biggest selection of ‘retired’ (discontinued) Lupine on the internet.  Want to replace your dog-eared old Lupine?  Lupine at great prices – even ordered from the UK.  I always start with Jill Anderson at Pet Expectations. 

Collarways – If buying from the internet in the UK.  Collarways aren’t the cheapest supplier BUT they have excellent service and a full stock range.  They do have some ’retired’ patterns too but not as full as Jill’s range above.

Premier

Premier do collars and leads in an amazing range of solid colours.  Their ‘martingale’ (half check) collars are great for walking nervous dogs which back out of normal collars, or for greyhounds.  Lightweight and hardwearing, I also have a set of 4 ft and 6ft leads, and 1 inch collars, for each of my dogs.

Pet insurance

Animal Friends  My Top Pick for the UK.  An ethical insurance company which donates 100% of its net profits to animal charities.  This company won the owner a Business Woman Of The Year Award in 2005.  Great value insurance and excellent cover terms.  And you get the same rate no matter where you live.
