Robin’s Page

  Welcome to Robin’s page.

This is Robin!

Here he is sitting on the edge of the dunes near a beach at Quiberon in Brittany in 2007.  We were on a motorbike touring trip, based at a holiday cottage near Baud, and heading out from there every day to do interesting things and explore.  Like visit old forts, the fields of standing stones, see some friends with Azawakhs and visit some of the beautiful old towns like Vannes.

Robin was born in Austria which is where his father was stationed in the army.  After his father died he and his mum moved back to the UK.  He’s had a very interesting life, a lot of which he can’t talk about!  He started life as an art student, but after getting fed up (I think the grant was cut) decided to join the Navy – a bit of a change!

In the Navy he learned to fly helicopters and has been stationed all over the world – in Oman, Norway and many other places besides.  Actually he learned to speak Arabic fluently but I think now his skills are more basic and rusty not having been used for a while.

After the Navy he went into the security business – dealing with information security.  After some years as an employee he struck out on his own as a consultant, with great success.  He is one of the foremost brains in his field and has worked in some incredibly high profile places.  He is very sought after through his Company Ebos Limited.

One of Robin’s main loves is his motorbikes.  He’s a big fan of Moto Guzzi.  Here is a picture of his Sport Scura (black) and the racing MGS-01 (red).  In the past he has owned various bikes including a Moto Guzzi California or two (touring bike) and the Breva ( a sport tourer which wasn’t as comfy!).

He now has the Scura and a Moto Guzzi Centauro in red – a total classic and the most drop dead gorgeous motorbike I have ever seen.

Out of the business and biking world Robin enjoys other pastimes – his children and granchildren, red wine, cakes and dark chocolate, cosied up watching DVDs and being with me and the ‘kids’ as he calls them, out walking.  He also likes bike trips away so we plan on getting a proper holiday in 2011 – the first for about 3 years.

We don’t live together as his job keeps him near London, but we see each other regularly for weekends.

I met Robin though a love of dogs in July 2004.  He volunteered to do work for the rescue I was with.  Both of us were just fresh out of relationships, and not looking for another, but sometimes these things happen!
